Kenneth MacArthur

Dear Scottish government,

Thank you for your response of 6 May 2022 (with an attached letter dated 4 May 2022).

Please can you provide a corrected version of this sentence in the response, which does not appear to be syntactically correct English:
"This advice has not been provided by the JCVI secretariat as per your request about, but is advice published to government by the JCVI which been provided by UK Government."

Yours faithfully,

Kenneth MacArthur

Scottish Government

Good afternoon Mr McArthur,

Thank you for your email of 06 May 2022 requesting clarification on the
following sentence:

"This advice has not been provided by the JCVI secretariat as per your
request about, but is advice published to government by the JCVI which
been provided by UK Government."

I can confirm that the word “about” was included in error and the sentence
should have read "This advice has not been provided by the JCVI
secretariat as per your request, but is advice published to government by
the JCVI which been provided by UK Government”

Scottish Government do not receive advice directly from JCVI Secretariat.
The JCVI pass advice to UK Government and they then share this with the
governments of each of the home nations. As your request asked
specifically regarding advice provided by the JCVI secretariat to Scottish
Government, we have provided the most helpful answer possible. That is,
that we have received JCVI advice from the UK Government, but at present,
we are unable to share this information due to the exemptions mentioned in
our original response.

I trust that this helps clarify matters and apologise for any confusion
caused.

Yours sincerely

Nikki
