Use of Battersea Park during 2009 weekends
Dear Wandsworth Borough Council,
How many of the 52 Saturday mornings (0900-1000hrs) during 2009 did organised events result in either the closure of the whole park or the dedicated use of the park's Carriage Drive?
Yours faithfully,

Freedom of Information Act request - 2010/3368 - Battersea Park
I refer to your request for information relating to Battersea Park
received on 1^st April 2010.
Please see the information in response to your questions provided below:
1. How many of the 52 Saturday mornings (0900-1000hrs) during 2009 did
organised events result in either the closure of the whole park or the
dedicated use of the park's Carriage Drive?
There were no events on Saturday mornings (9.00am to 10.00am) in 2009 that
resulted in the full closure of the park or dedicated use of the Carriage
Drives. The full closure of the park is only permitted once each year for
the Fireworks Display (Saturday pm) and the dedicated use of the Carriage
Drives is restricted to only a few events each year that generally take
place on weekday evenings.
2. How many of the 52 Saturday mornings in the twelve months between June
2010 and May 2011 are planned or forecasted to result in either the
closure of the whole of Battersea Park or the use of the park's Carriage
Drive for staging organised events
There are no events planned for Saturday mornings between June 2010 and
May 2011 that will result in the full closure of the park as a whole (see
above regarding policy), but there are 26 events that will utilise the
Carriage Drives in some form or another as part of their staging.
