Use of Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) for the county libraries' ebook service

Cambridgeshire County Council did not have the information requested.

Dear Cambridgeshire County Council,

I notice that the Cambridgeshire Library Service provides an ebook lending service through http://cambridgeshire.libraryebooks.co.u... and that this service uses Adobe Digital Editions Digital Rights Management software.

There are concerns about ADE and Adobe's use of users' personal data. eg

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adobe_Digi...

Please can I have a copy of the due diligence report or reports into the suitability of ADE for a public library service, the decision not to mention concerns over the use of personal data to potential users of the library's ebook loan service and the council's duty of care to vulnerable people who use the service and are unlikely to comprehend the detailed terms and conditions provided by Adobe.

Yours faithfully,

Neville Sweet
