Updating EU Settlement Scheme details

We're waiting for David Hugkulstone to read a recent response and update the status.

David Hugkulstone

Dear Home Office,

This link - https://www.gov.uk/update-eu-settlement-... - points to the need for EU nationals to update any change in their personal details following successful registration via the EU Settlement Scheme.

For each quarterly period since the EU Settlement Scheme was fully opened on 30 March 2018, please can you therefore confirm the number of individuals to have successfully updated their personal information since registering via the EU Settlement Scheme. For example:

- Number of successful updates made by EU nationals in respect of their stored personal details held via the EU Settlement Scheme for each quarterly period has been as follows:

April - June 2018:
July - Sept 2018:
Oct - Dec 2018:
Jan - March 2019
April - June 2019:
July - Sept 2019:
Oct - Dec 2019:

Yours faithfully,

David Hugkulstone

David Hugkulstone

Dear Home Office,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Home Office's handling of my FOI request 'Updating EU Settlement Scheme details'.

The EU Settlement Scheme was fully opened on 30 March 2018 and the associated need for EU nationals to update any change in their personal details following successful registration has been published for a number of months by the government. Therefore, simply publishing the number of those EU nationals who have, to date, followed the government's instructions should be considered acceptable.

We contest the suggestion that this information should maintain exemption in order to allow the Home Office to work towards its pre-planned publication.

Given the scheme has been open for 51 weeks already, we question whether the Home Office had even considered publishing the specific data requested in the FOI before now? It seems a convenient way of kicking the request into the long grass.

The data requested is simplistic. We therefore further contest that the publicaton of such information needs to be managed in a cost-effective way.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/u...

Yours faithfully,

David Hugkulstone
