Updated data on women in the military

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Ministry of Defence should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Ministry of Defence,

I am writing to request updated data on the number of women working in the military with emphasis on pilot/engineer roles. I asked for this data 10 years ago for a report on Women in Aviation and Aerospace, which was published by the Royal Aeronautical Society and now need to update it for a university lecture on March 8. This is what we published:

Navy: 3560 females (9.5% of total); 710 officers (9.6%); other ranks 2940 (9.5%)
Army: 7240 (7.7%); 1480 officers (10.8%); other ranks 5760 (7.1%)
RAF: 5150 (13%); 1290 officers (13.3%); other ranks 3860 (12.9%)

We also included the following statistics:

2% of Squadron Leaders (Flying Branch) were women
4% of Junior Officer Pilots
9% of Junior Officer Navigators
8% of Engineering Branch

I would be most grateful if you would update the above data and thank you for your assistance.

Yours faithfully,
Mrs Rosalind Clare Walker
