Update to UK Traffic Signs Regulations to a geometrically correct football

Dear Department for Transport,

I recently signed a petition (as titled in the summary) regarding updating the football symbol on road signs.

The petition committee rejecting taking any action to correct the image used.

The response cited "...the public funding required to change every football sign nationally would place an unreasonable financial burden on local authorities".

Could you please clarify:

1. The Non-Recurring cost associating with generating the new design?
2. The average cost of producing a UK road sign, and would a new symbol change this?
3. What should the cost of item 1 above be for this petition to be accepted?

Yours faithfully,
Dale Tomlinson
