ACCOUNT, Unmonitored, Department for Education

Dear Mr Hayes,

Thank you for your recent request for information, which the Department
received on 18 July 2018 in which you requested:

For the Spring Term 2018 (January to March 2018):

1.     The number of schools who have participated in the Teaching for
Mastery programme’s one-off match funding towards the purchase of
high-quality textbooks to date this school term (January – March 2018)

2.     The total amount of money that has been claimed by schools as part
of the Teaching for Mastery programme’s one-off match funding towards the

The Department for Education has considered your request under the Freedom
of Information Act 2000.

Your specified timeline, January to March 2018, falls between two claim
periods: cohort one, which ended on 31 December 2017; and cohort two,
which started on 30 April 2018. Thus, no funding has been claimed in the
period that you have specified.

The deadline for eligible schools to claim textbook funding for cohort two
is 31 December 2018. Any information on the schools, and amount of funding
claimed, for this cohort will not be available until January 2019.

If you have any queries about this letter, please contact me. Please
remember to quote the reference number above in any future communications.

If you are unhappy with the way your request has been handled, you should
make a complaint to the Department by writing to me within two calendar
months of the date of this letter. Your complaint will be considered by an
independent review panel, who were not involved in the original
consideration of your request.

If you are not content with the outcome of your complaint to the
Department, you may then contact the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Kind regards
