Update on representations from Leonard Cheshire Disability re their wish to pay their carers the Living Wage

Doug Paulley made this Freedom of Information request to Birmingham City Council as part of a batch sent to 18 authorities

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was successful.

Dear Birmingham City Council,

In 2015, you were kind enough to respond to my Freedom of Information requests of January and May about (inter alia) any representation from Leonard Cheshire Disability requesting an increase in their fees to enable them to pay the Living Wage.

I wonder if you could please indicate if Leonard Cheshire have since been in contact or negotiation with you on this issue, and if so, what was the nature and content of this contact or these contacts.

NB: I wish to differentiate between the living wage set by the Living Wage Foundation, and the "living wage" (effectively an increase in the minimum wage) as set by Osborne in the Autumn statement. I wish to know what representations, if any, LCD have made to you to increase their fees so they can pay their carers the Living Wage set by the Living Wage Foundation.

Thank you

Yours faithfully,

Doug Paulley
