Dear Mr Mann,
I am writing in response to your recent query in relation to
whistleblowing claims.
Ofcom is required, under the Public Interest and Disclosure Act 1998
(PIDA), to put in place a procedure under which individuals working in the
communications sector may contact Ofcom if they have concerns about
possible wrongdoing at their own organisation and where they have been
unable to resolve those concerns internally. This includes concerns about
Royal Mail’s compliance with regulatory requirements.
We take all whistle blowing complaints seriously and information received
by Ofcom is treated sensitively. If a complaint is investigated under this
procedure it will be done in a responsible manner. The Act does not
require Ofcom to investigate every disclosure received and the decision to
investigate or not is based upon various criteria designed to ensure the
most effective use of the resources at Ofcom’s disposal in safeguarding
the public interest. For more information regarding our whistle blowing
procedures, please see:

If you wish to raise concerns about Royal Mail’s compliance with
regulatory requirements, please do not hesitate to contact us on
[2][email address].
Kind regards
