1. Does Merseyside Police make use of unmanned aerial systems, unmanned aerial vehicles or remotely piloted aircraft systems?
2. If so, when has Merseyside Police made use of these systems? Is there an authorisation process before the technology is used and what does this process involve?
3. What was the purpose for trialling and acquiring these systems? Please include any relevant minutes and other written materials relevant to the decision-making process.
4. Has the use of these systems led to any prosecutions and/or convictions for civil or criminal offences? Please provide details.
5. What have been the costs so far for a) purchasing the technology and b) the running costs of using the technology?

This will be dealt with under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act
2000.
Your request will now be considered and you will receive a response within
the statutory timescale of 20 working days as defined by the Act, subject
to the information not being exempt nor containing a reference to a third
party. In the event that we are not able to achieve this deadline you will
be informed at the earliest opportunity and given a revised time-scale.
There may be a fee payable for the retrieval, collation and provision of
the information you have requested. If this is the case you will be
informed and the 20 working day timescale will be suspended until we
receive payment from you.
Some requests may also require either full or partial transfer to another
public authority in order to answer your query in the fullest possible
way. Again, you will be informed if this is the case.

35 grand for a spy drone and then I believe they crashed it in the Mersey. A superb, and fit for purpose FPV drone could be built for a couple of grand.
