Unique bus stop identifier

The request was successful.

Dear Transport for London,

You offer a syndicated feed, via the developer area on your website, that lists every bus stop operated by TfL, along with a unique identifier labelled as "Stop_Code_LBSL"

Every bus stop in London also has a code on a small yellow piece of plastic, which would appear to be a combination of 5 letters and numbers, and is clearly visible from the pavement, attached part way up the bus stop pole.

Please can you provide a dataset showing the lookup between the Stop_Code_LBSL as provided in the existing syndicated feed, and this identifier?

Yours faithfully,

Daniel Roberts

Dear Transport for London,

As a follow up to the above, I have been informed that the name for the codes I am requesting are "BODS Codes" - so my request is thus for publication of BODS codes for every stop as identified by a "Stop_Code_LBSL" identifier in the syndicated data feed from TfL.

Yours faithfully,

Daniel Roberts

Dear Mr Roberts

Thank you for your emails received by Transport for London (TfL) on 19 and
20 April 2011, asking for information showing stop codes and BODS codes
for each bus stop in London.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of
Information Act 2000 and I can confirm that TfL holds the information you
require.

The attached document contains the requested information, correct as at 6
May 2011. The BODS code (now known as a transit node) is shown in the
final column. Please note that these are not unique identifiers, but can
apply to groups of up to eight stops within 100m of each other.

If this is not the information you are looking for please do not hesitate
to contact me on the details below.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to

Dear FOI,

Thanks for this - there appear to be some duplicates in the provided dataset.

For example Stop Number 1005, the 24th row of the data, appears twice and is identical in both cases...

Yours sincerely,

Daniel Roberts

This thread was started by me regarding the proposed restoration of the State Cinema at Grays Eeesx. So why are items that are nothing to do with the State Cinema being entered here ???

Daniel Roberts

Dear Transport for London,

Extracting the data from the pdf reliably is proving quite difficult. Are you able to provide it in a format more open to analysis - be that csv, xls, or similar?

Yours faithfully,

Daniel Roberts
