Unidentified Ministerial Direction

Eleanor Shaikh made this Freedom of Information request to Cabinet Office

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Cabinet Office should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Cabinet Office,

The Cabinet Office Annual Report of 2019-20 makes the following disclosure:

‘During 2019-20 there was one Ministerial Direction made, which relates to ongoing litigation. Disclosure of further details at this stage would be inappropriate for reasons of confidentiality’ Alex Chisholm, Accountability Report, p21.

Please can you identify which Minister made this direction, who requested the direction, on what date was the direction made and did it authorise the payment of legal costs?

Please can you confirm if the Ministerial Direction relates to the High Court Litigation of Post Office Limited?

Yours faithfully,

Eleanor Shaikh
