Dear K Baguley,

Thank your for your request for information under the Freedom of
Information Act 2000. You asked:

Under the Freedom of Information Act, I would like to know the number of
unfilled positions at your Trust, broken down by:

     1) Type of role

     2) Area/specialism of the positions (e.g. coronary care, A&E etc)

Under Section 1(1)(a) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I can
confirm that The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust does not hold
this information in the exact format that you have requested it.

However, I can confirm that in February 2013, the total number of nursing
staff working in the Trust exceeded the recurrent budget levels by 27.61
whole-time equivalent posts.

The number of contracted staff employed was 41.75 below the levels working
in January 2012 (the base year used in setting the budget). The shortfall
in contracted staff and the excess staffing levels have been accommodated
through an increase in bank and Agency staff.

Please also find attached a briefing which explains:

·         your rights to request a review by the Trust or to complain to
the Information Commissioner’s Office if you are not satisfied with the
response from the Trust,

·         an outline of the Trust’s policy on the Reuse of Public Sector
Information,

·         A feedback survey.

Please complete the feedback survey and send it back to the Trust via this
email address or via post to Freedom of Information Officer, The
Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, Royal Shrewsbury Hospital,
Mytton Oak Road, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, SY3 8XQ.
