Understanding how and when citizenship application are processed.
Dear Home Office,
Under the FOI Act,
I would like to know what the actual selection process for naturalisation cases is. In fact, From communications and experience, it seems as though there’s no real logic as to when cases are treated. I know you claim cases are treated in reception time order, but many times, it has been proven that might not be the case as often we have seen cases getting far quicker decisions even though they were submitted weeks or months after others of the same caliber.
Yours Faithfully,
Mr A. Bondi

Dear Home Office,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of Home Office's handling of my FOI request 'Understanding how and when citizenship application are processed.'.
“This has been assigned to a caseworker (case ref 53289). We will aim to
send you a full response by 14/05/2019 which is twenty working days from
the date we received your request”
I would like to respectfully remind you of the obligation for you to respond to my request within the timeframe provided with your acknowledgment message, or at least inform me of any delays that could have impeded my request. It’s hard enough having to deal with the lack of transparency we go through with our applications, but it’s harder seeing people slowly slipping into depression, relation breakups and inability to live our lives just like any other citizen.
I only require you see us as we are also human beings and try for a second walking in our shoes.

Dear A Bondi
Thank you for the email,
All cases are to be decided in date order as they are received. However,
with respect, not all cases are identical and each application is assessed
on individual circumstances. In some circumstances further checks are
required, albeit via internal or external agencies. If there is more than
one applicant applying then on occasion more analysis is required. This is
why not all cases can be decided in order of which they arrive and some
may have to be extended beyond the 6 month service standard.
