Underpayments

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Department for Communities (Northern Ireland) should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Department for Communities (Northern Ireland),

As has been highly publicised a number of individuals were underpaid in the switch-over from incapacity benefit.

Can you please state how many claimants in N.Ireland were affected?

How many in each SSA area?

What is the average total claimants were underpaid?

Have all affected been contacted?

Has the absence of Stormont affected the speed with which claimants were notified?

Have any claimants identified as underpaid, deceased?

If yes, how many?

If yes, was the underpayment forwarded to anyone else on their behalf, eg: next of kin/carer?

Thank you for your time with this matter.

Yours faithfully,

A.Henry.

Mcdonald Roisin NISSA BELFAST JAMES HOUSE,
