Dear Ms Hall,

I write to acknowledge receipt of your request.

I interpret questions 1-5 as seeking details of complaints submitted by undergraduates regarding other students from the University. I would be grateful if you could confirm that this is correct so that we may continue to process your request.

Yours sincerely,

Dear Ms Hall,

We apologise for the delay in responding to your freedom of information request. Increasing levels of workload in all areas of information compliance, including the need to plan for the introduction of new data protection legislation from 25 May 2018, have created pressures which have had an adverse effect on our ability to meet statutory deadlines. We hope to be able to respond to your request by 01 May 2018 and will contact you again should there be any risk of further slippage.

Yours sincerely

Dear UAS Foi,

Dear Ms Hall,

Dear UAS Foi,

My request is now close to four months overdue - I'm afraid I'm quite disappointed indeed. Even if the University considers my request vexatious and declines to provide the information, which I sincerely hope it does not, a reply would be well in order.

Yours sincerely,

Margaret Hall (Ms.)

I would urge you to raise a complaint directly with the ICO. The university has not offered you an internal review, so there is no reason why you cannot do this immediately. The more people alert the ICO to the present unacceptable situation, the more likely it is that the university will be placed under monitoring to ensure future compliance.

Dear Ms Hall,

I am writing to apologise for the very long delay in responding to your FOI request of 27 February.

As will be evident from the delay, we have been experiencing significant difficulties as a result of an increase in workload, arising in part from the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation and in part from a general increase in the number of requests for information, both under the Freedom of Information Act and data protection legislation. We have employed some extra temporary staff to help us reduce our backlog.

I hope to be able to reply to your request by 31 August.

Again, my sincere apologies for the delay.

Yours sincerely
