Undergraduate admission statistics about Chinese students

The request was partially successful.

Dear University of Cambridge,
Under the Freedom of Information Act may I kindly request you to provide the following information:
(1) How many students that applied to University of Cambridge for an undergraduate place (broke down into each undergraduate course provided by the university)have Chinese Nationality? Of those, how many received an offer from the university? How many of those successfully eventually took up their place at the university?

(2)How many students that applied to University of Cambridge for an undergraduate place (broke down into each undergraduate course provided by the university) are applying from a high school(or equivalent) based in China? Of those, how many received an offer from the university? How many of those successfully eventually took up their place at the university?

If possible, please can you provide these statistics for the 2020,2019,2018,2017 and 2016 entry
admissions cycle? I understand that the intake data for the 2020 cycle are not yet available but would like to ask you to provide this data for the previous rounds only.

Yours faithfully,
Ruochen Liu

Dear University of Cambridge,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of University of Cambridge's handling of my FOI request 'Undergraduate admission statistics about Chinese students'.

In your response letter you mentioned that you answered question 2 by Chinese domiciled applicants. But I don't think that "Chinese domiciled applicants" are equivalent to "applicants applying from a Chinese high school". Please can you provide information based on whether or not the applicant's sixth form school (or equivalent) is based within China(instead of domicile information)? I am asking for this because a number of applicants to the University may be studying at a UK sixth form college (or elsewhere in the world) but is still domiciled in China.

(Question 2 is as follows: How many students that applied to University of Cambridge for an undergraduate place (broke down into each undergraduate course provided by the university) are applying from a high school(or equivalent) based in China? Of those, how many received an offer from the university? How many of those successfully eventually took up their place at the university?)

Many thanks for your help.
