Unaccompanied asylum seeking children
Dear Barking and Dagenham Borough Council,
I would be grateful if you could provide responses to the following questions under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 –
1. How many unaccompanied asylum seeking children are looked after by Barking and Dagenham Children's Services?
Of these -
· What is the number of males and females?
· How many are living in borough?
· How many are living out of borough and in which boroughs are they living?
How many are in each ward?
2. How many former unaccompanied asylum seeking children are looked after by Barking and Dagenham in leaving care support?
Of these -
· What is the number of males and females?
· How many are living in borough?
· How many are living out of borough and in which boroughs are they living?
How many are in each ward?
3. How many unaccompanied asylum seeking children are living in Barking and Dagenham out of borough from another borough?

information is below.
1. How many unaccompanied asylum seeking children are looked after by
Barking and Dagenham Children's Services?
17 in total are looked after by LBBD.
Of these - 6 are living out of borough. Due to low numbers, we cannot give
exact numbers per authority, but the 6 young people are living in Havering
and Redbridge.
2. How many former unaccompanied asylum seeking children are looked after
by Barking and Dagenham in leaving care support?
42 former asylum seeking children are receiving leaving care support by
LBBD
Of these - 23 are living out of borough - 15 are living in Redbridge. Due
to low numbers, we cannot give exact numbers per authority for the
remaining 8, but the authorities they are living in are Havering, Norfolk,
Hillingdon, Lewisham, Haringey and Newham.
