Unable to hear a fire alarm when bathing or showering

The request was partially successful.

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

We need your help to support our many clients who are losing out on benefits at this critical time. Many of them have worked in noisy workplaces and have degrees of hearing loss and struggle to hear every day.

Could you provide, the following to support us.

> guidance you gave to assessors deciding if a D/deaf person can hear a fire alarm or not
> evidence used to determine the degree of hearing loss for being unable to hear an alarm
> equality analysis showing how many people would be able to hear an alarm or not
> evidence used to decide which impaired conditions could bathe and shower safely and which could not
> how much would it cost to pay everyone with a degree of hearing loss and how much you saved by not including everyone

Yours faithfully,

David Smith

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Department for Work and Pensions's handling of my FOI request 'Unable to hear a fire alarm when bathing or showering'.
