UKSA stakeholder engagement as part of the latest five year strategy

The request was partially successful.

Dear UK Statistics Authority,

Can you please publish the sources, or emails/correspondence, from which the quotes on this page - https://uksa.statisticsauthority.gov.uk/... - are drawn?

The same web pages says: "As part of the planning and preparation for this new strategy the Authority has engaged with a wide range of users and stakeholders." Can you please publish (i) a list of all events held, (ii) a list of all stakeholders invited/attended, (iii) the written contributions to the consultation from the MPC/BoE, LGA, RSS, GovAct, Geospatial Commission, OS and NCVO, and (iv) reports written about the events held (published or not)?

Yours faithfully,

Simon Briscoe

Dear FOI Team,

Thank you for the reply.

Could I please ask for more detail?

On the emails sent to stakeholders seeking endorsement, you say:
"Unfortunately the original emails inviting those stakeholders to provide a comment are no longer held because they were sent from the inboxes of ONS colleagues who have now left the organisation. The ONS policy is to delete the email accounts of ex-employees 30 days after their departure for security reasons."

Can you please let me have copies of the policy that allows deletion of key business information? Were the replies to these emails not forwarded to any other staff member working on the plans or kept in shared drives or archived?

You do not seem to have addressed the following questions:
"Can you please publish (i) a list of all events held, (ii) a list of all stakeholders invited/attended, (iii) the written contributions to the consultation from the MPC/BoE, LGA, RSS, GovAct, Geospatial Commission, OS and NCVO, and (iv) reports written about the events held (published or not)?"

Yours sincerely,

Simon Briscoe

Dear Simon,

Thank you for your email.

We have looked into your Freedom of Information (FOI) request and our
response to [1]FOI/2022/3984.

We can confirm that the strategy papers in the three publications supplied
in our initial response mention some stakeholder events and staff / GSS /
Head of Profession consultations. However, we would like to clarify that
we do not hold records of every event. Therefore, our response should have
explicitly stated that the requested information was not held.

Whilst investigating our response to you, we cross examined the
information we hold on our systems with the information published. Upon
review we have discovered an additional two documents in scope of this
request.

Please see the attached documents. ‘Data Landscape Workshop’ is for an
event which should have been included with the board papers and
‘Contribution to UKSA strategy final’ is a document found attached to an
email. We will ensure to upload these documents to your original FOI
response published on the website. Our apologies that these were not
included in our initial disclosure.

Personal data has been redacted from the document named ‘Data Landscape
Workshop’ document under Section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act
2000 (FOIA).

We logged your query about our retention policy as a new FOI request (Ref.
FOI/2022/4098). This has now been fulfilled and our response to
FOI/2022/4098 is as follows:

You requested:

• Please supply a copy of the policy that allows deletion of key
business information.

Please see the link to our response below:

You have the right to have this response to your Freedom of Information
request reviewed internally by an internal review process and, if you
remain unhappy with the decision, by the Information Commissioner. If you
