Dear [Name Removed]

I write further to previous correspondence. I have considered your request
under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

I can’t provide the information you requested due to the work that would
be involved in extracting the requested information. Under the FOIA
there’s an exemption for requests where it would cost the public authority
more than £450 (the ‘appropriate limit’) to process - equivalent to two
and half days’ work.

To estimate the cost we can take into account determining, locating,
retrieving and extracting the information requested. The audit was
wide-ranging (please see the details available below) and your request
covers a very large amount of information. A limited initial search has
revealed around 5000 pages of data which may be relevant to your request.
Further extensive searching would have to be carried out to find any other
information potentially relating to the audit. Even considering the
limited documentation we have identified, if it took 20 seconds per page
to retrieve and extract the information requested, this would exceed the
appropriate limit.

Under the FOIA, the specific exemption which we believe applies is at
section 12. This states that we are not required to comply with a request
if we estimate that the cost of doing so would exceed the appropriate
limit.

Information we can provide

A summary report of the audit has been published [1]here

Also, as part of the audit we visited 5 Medical Schools and published
reports of these visits. They are [2]here, in the 2014 undergraduate
assessment. In [3]this section there are lots of other site reports of
Medical Schools which while not directly related to the audit per se, may
contain useful information.

If, following your review of this material, you would like to re-frame or
focus your request please get in touch.

Kind Regards

Matt
