BritCits made this Freedom of Information request to Home Office

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was partially successful.

Dear Home Office

I note that your website has been amended recently: EUN2.14 (at this site: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/policy...)

has had the following text removed: "It does not matter if the only reason the British national went to another Member State was to exercise an economic Treaty right was so that he / she could come back to the UK with his / her family members under EC law."

Could you please
a) confirm the date this text was removed?
b) explain why it was removed?

Yours faithfully

BritCits

I really wouldn't pay much attention to their website. they get the entire legislation wrong and misguide people in general...

For avoidance of doubt also, it might be worth altering "explain why" to "provide any communication which outlines the reasons why"

The Home Office dont have to create information, and an explaination would be creating information...

They will certainly use this excuse to avoid telling you that it has something to do with the recent BBC news...

Dear FOI Requests,

For further clarity on b) please note that by "explain why" I mean "provide any communication which outlines the reasons why"

Yours sincerely,

FOI Requests, Home Office

Dear BritCits,

Thank you for your email of 4 February which has been treated as a
follow-up enquiry to the internal review response of 14 October 2013.

I would like to refer you to paragraph 10 of the internal review. The
extract provided to you in the original FOI response is the only part of
the email dated 26 June which addresses the issue of why the text
(EUN2.14) was removed from the UK Border Agency website.

The rest of that email provides no further explanation or detail as to why
the text was removed and therefore does not fall within the scope of your
enquiry.

We can add nothing further to the conclusion contained within the internal
review.

Yours sincerely

R Taylor

That WAS a fresh FOI request. At which point your request has been refused. Request an internal review the in 20 days trot off to the ico. Your request was very clear and they are well aware of which message you want a copy of.

I have a feeling this message outlines that new policy was held at the home office despite assurances that the only information regarding Singh was in the public eye already.

Dear Home Office,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Home Office's handling of my FOI request 'UKBA website'.

Severe time delay.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/u...
