Dear VSD - FOI Enquiries,
Thank you for your response.
You have not answered the first part of my question relating to the breakdown of the original applications number 2,571,460 amongst the visa categories relating to the instructions you sent on 14 October, nor the breakdown of the cases reviewed by the ECM. That is, of the 2,571,460, 196,363 and 112,484 cases, how many are settelement visa applications and how many are non-settlement visa applications?
Your two responses are also a little contradictory in the data contained, therefore please also confirm my understanding of your response.
In the period April 2012 - March 2013, 2,571,460 applications were made.
Of these, ECM reviewed 196,363 of the applications which the caseworker originally granted a visa to, amending the number of visas issued to 189,399.
The ECM reviewed 112,484 of the applications which the caseworker originally refused a visa for, with the number of refusals post ECM review decreasing to 98,073.
Finally, please confirm when the instructions you sent me came into effect?
Yours sincerely
BritCits
