UK Level District Heating Schemes List
A. Thoma made this Freedom of Information request to Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy
Dear Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy,
It is my understanding that BEIS has undertaken several assessments and forecasts of UK heat demand and the potential for district heating in the past. As such, would you kindly be able to provide a list regarding district heating type schemes in the UK (most up to date data that you have), ideally in Excel format, containing as much as the following information as you readily have access to and are able to give:
a) The location of the scheme (either grid coordinates, or LSOA ID, or some similar geospatial location)
b) The number of customers, broken down into domestic and commerical ideally, that it serves
c) The approximate amount of heat supplied by the scheme in kWh on an annual basis, either in total or on an average per customer basis
