Dear Ministry of Justice,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of Ministry of Justice's handling of my FOI request 'UK - KSA Memorandum of Understanding on Judicial Cooperation'.
While I appreciate Mr Turner's carefully argued response, I believe that the balance of the public interest considerations has been determined wrongly, and I would ask for a review. To clarify, I concede that ss.27(1) and (2) may be applicable but the public interest favours disclosure in this case, especially with regards to questions which have been asked about Saudi Arabia's doubtful judicial and human rights record, and the need to assess what judicial cooperation is envisaged by the Agreement.
A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/u...
Yours faithfully,
Michael Bimmler
Dear Mr Turner,
thank you for this well-argued response. Unfortunately, as you will no doubt understand, I disagree with your final conclusion on the balance of the public interest and have therefore asked for an internal review under separate cover.
Yours sincerely,
Michael Bimmler
