1. Please could you supply any and all documentation presented to the HCPC by the University of East Anglia when applying for accreditation for the Paramedic science DipHE course. I am particularly interested in documentation surrounding the assessment process including OSCEs.
2. Could you please inform me How Many OSCE exams were approved by the HCPC to enable

Dear Mr Clinton
Thank you for your email of 13 January 2017, in which you ask for
information about HCPC accredited courses and exams at University of East
Anglia.
Your request has been handled under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Please find below our response to your questions.
1. Please could you supply any and all documentation presented to the
HCPC by the University of East Anglia when applying for accreditation for
the Paramedic science DipHE course. I am particularly interested in
documentation surrounding the assessment process including OSCEs.
The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) conducted an Approval visit
to the DipHE Paramedic programme at the University of East Anglia on 26 –
27 March 2015.
The visitors agreed to recommend to the Education and Training Committee
that:
a. a number of conditions are set on the programme, all of which must
be met before the programme can be approved; and
b. that a further visit is required to make an appropriate assessment
of the response to the conditions.
The programme was revisited on 24-25 August 2015 and was approved by the
Education and Training Committee on 15 January 2016. The Visitors’ report
from the approval visit is available here:
[1]http://www.hcpc-uk.org/assets/documents/...
Please find the documentation provided by the education provider at the
initial visit and the revisit attached. There are seven zip files: 3
relating to the first visit, 3 relating to the revisit and one containing
the emails received from the education provider.
As files enter our system, codes are attached to files dependent on how
they are received. Files uploaded to our system attach the education
provider code (UEA) and an assessment reference that relates to the
programme being approved (APP00742). Our system attaches a unique code to
the end of files received by email which consists of a string of letters
and numbers e.g. C3F7B824-FF86-E511-80DA-0050569F10C3.
Some emails have been redacted only in relation to full names and email
addresses of non-senior staff in accordance with the exemption provided by
section 40(2) of the FOIA. This section applies to personal data which
relates to a third party. Disclosure would breach the principles of data
protection set out in Schedule 1 of the Data Protection Act 1998. In
particular the first principle, that personal data should be processed
fairly and lawfully.
Please note that due to the size of the attachments, we’ve split them over
a total of seven emails. The document attached to this email is the first
attachment of seven.
2. Could you please inform me How Many OSCE exams were approved by the
HCPC to enable UEA to gain approval to run this course and the details of
these.
There are 17 OSCE exams as outlined in E Final Assessment Guidelines_9 Nov
2015-36E71E2B-FF86-E511-80DA-0050569F10C3 in the 24-25 August 2015 Revisit
Submission.
The HCPC approved the university’s process for managing assessments as
part of the approval visit. We are happy to allow assessments to be
changed providing that the policies and processes which have been approved
were followed.
