UCAT score for Dentistry BDS
Under the FOI act, please can you confirm what the UCAT cut off score was last year for your Dentistry BDS course. Also can you confirm the average accepted score in UCAT for Dentistry in 2019.
My daughter wishes to apply to your university this year and the information would be most useful, many thanks
Yours faithfully,
Mary Stephen

Dear Mary,
Thank you for your request for information received by The University of
Manchester on 27 August 2020 which was as follows:
Under the FOI act, please can you confirm what the UCAT cut off score was
last year for your Dentistry BDS course. Also can you confirm the average
accepted score in UCAT for Dentistry in 2019.
The University has now considered your request and our response can be
found below.
We don’t use a UCAT cut off for dentistry. The only thing we specify is
that we don’t accept a band 4 in the situational judgement test element.
In terms of an average score, this isn’t something that we record or
calculate. The way that the UCAT is used for the applications for the BDS
programme is that we look at the overall score alongside the entire
application. A person being shortlisted for interview may not necessarily
mean it’s because of their UCAT, it may simply be something else that made
their application strong enough to be interviewed and subsequently made an
offer.
I trust this information is of use to you.
Kind regards
