Dear foi Uof Liverpool,
Thank you for the reply.
You have given the following information:
Total interviews (2020) 645 (2019) 650
Total offers made (2020) 105 (2019) 279
Total offers accepted (2020) 87 (2019) 215
I would like to find out why the number of offers made in 2020 is very less compared to 2019.
It looks like the interview to offer ratio is only 16% compared to 42% in 2019. Is there any particular reason for this reduction?
Please also confirm the numbers you have given is for "UK School leavers (excluding contextual & widening participating applicants)"
Yours sincerely,
Muthu Ramasamy
Dear Muthu
Answers to your queries are below:
Q: I would like to find out why the number of offers made in 2020 is very
less compared to 2019. It looks like the interview to offer ratio is only
16% compared to 42% in 2019. Is there any particular reason for this
reduction?
A: The University made a reduced number of offers for entry in 2020/2021
as it was expecting grade inflation due to the use of Teacher assessed
grades and medical schools had been given clear instructions not to exceed
the targets set by the Government. The number of offers for 2022 have yet
to be determined but are likely to be significantly increased.
Q: Please also confirm the numbers you have given is for "UK School
leavers (excluding contextual & widening participating applicants)"
A: Yes. the numbers provided exclude contextual and widening participation
applicants.
Kind regards, Kirsty
