UC Global activities inside and outside the Ecuadorian Embassy 2015-2018

Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime did not have the information requested.

Dear Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime,

In the Extradition Hearing (Magistrates Court level) of Mr Julian Assange in September 2020 at The Old Bailey witness statements revealed that the Spanish firm UC Global employed by the Ecuadorian Embassy to offer security services, operated a clandestine spying operation against Julian Assange, his staff, lawyers, friends and associates who visited inside the Ecuadorian Embassy both inside and outside the Ecuadorian Embassy. The owner of UC Global is currently tried in a Spanish Court over this matter. I list URLs of the witness statements here:

Metropolitan police had an extensive overt and covert operation of surveillance outside the Ecuadorian Embassy for the period June 2012 to April 2019 (and perhaps beyond). I note that the overt police presence was removed by Metpol in October 2015. Coincidentally, October 2015 was the month that UC Global signed a contract of employment with the Ecuadorian government for providing security services to their London Embassy. My questions to you are:

Was Metropolitan Police aware of the clandestine operation of UC Global inside and outside the Ecuadorian Embassy?

Was Metropolitan Police aware specifically of any illegal activities involving UC Global employees whilst they lived in London? These activities are mentioned in the statements.

Was Metropolitan Police aware of plans to kidnap and or poison Julian Assange by UC Global or others during his years under political asylum inside the Ecuadorian Embassy? These plans are mentioned in the witness statements.

Was/is Metropolitan Police aware of British citizens involved in schemes by UC Global and their associates to kidnap or poison Julian Assange?

Would Metropolitan Police Service investigate potential involvement of British citizens in assisting UC Global and their associates in their illegal operations against Julian Assange including potentially plans to kidnap or poison him?

For for six and a half years I participated with others in a solidarity vigil outside the Ecuadorian Embassy in support of Julian Assange the information I ask today is crucial not only because it affects Julian Assange but because it potentially affects myself and all the other people who participated in solidarity actions outside the Ecuadorian Embassy June 2012 to April 2019.

I would like to thank you in advance for your time,

Kind regards

Mrs Emmy Butlin
