Thank you for your e-mail received on 24 December 2018 asking for
information about TfL travel passes.

 

Section 8(1) of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) sets out the
requirements of a valid request for information and states that a request
must, amongst other things, “state the name of the applicant and an
address for correspondence.” As a full name has not been provided we are
unable to treat this as a valid request. If you could please provide your
full name and then we will process your request.

 

If we hear nothing further from you by 17 January 2019 your response will
be treated as a new request.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of
the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can
confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked: Please could
you tell me who the TFL provides Free Travel to( E.g Which Agencies,
Athletes, Politicians, ETC). Also please could you confirm ,why your
cleaners are not entitled to free travel?

 

TfL Staff Travel provides travel facilities to TfL employees, TfL Board
Members, Eligible former TfL employees who are now retired, Bus Operator
employees who operate a TfL bus route on behalf of TfL and the following
third party companies who run rail routes on behalf of TfL including
Docklands Light Railway (Keolis Amey Docklands), London Overground (Arriva
Rail London), TfL Rail (MTR Crossrail),

 

The above employees, board members, bus operators, third party rail
employees and retired members are eligible for free travel via a staff
Oyster card and one nominee Oyster for a person living at the same address
as the employee/retiree who must be over the age of 16.

 

Cleaners and Non-permanent Labour do not get free home to work or leisure
travel facilities via TfL Staff Travel as they are not directly employed
by TfL, however some do receive duty travel via TfL Staff Travel to
commute on the network for work purposes only, for example travelling to
and from different locations/stations.
