Jonathan Evans, Newport City Council

Dear Mr Griffiths

Thank you for your request under the Freedom of Information Act 200.

Newport City Council's Standing Orders contain provisions for the conduct
of Council Meetings. They are published on the Council's website and can
be found at:
[1]http://stellentcons/stellent/groups/publ... .
Standing order 12 refers to photography and audio recording of meetings.
There is no reference to tweeting or blogging at meetings but the
Council's Standing Orders do contain other provisions as to conduct at
meetings.

The Council holds no other policies that relate to filming, tweeting or
blogging at Council meetings. I am unable to search all emails, memos and
other documents for reference to these issues as it would take far in
excess of the limits of 18 hours work or £450 available for a Freedom of
Information request to do so. However, my enquiries have revealed no
issues about filming, tweeting or blogging at meetings at Newport City
Council and therefore it is likely that the Council holds no other
recorded information on these issues.

If you have any queries about this response or if you are unhappy with the
service you have received in relation to this request and with to make a
complaint or request a review of the decision, you should write to me.

If you are not content with the outcome of your complaint, you may apply
directly to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) for a decision.
Generally the ICO cannot make a decision unless you have exhausted the
Council’s complaints procedure. The ICO can be contacted at: The
Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow,
Cheshire, SK9 5AF.

Regards

Jonathan Evans
