TV Licensing - Use of Recorded Mail
Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,
It has been reported that BBC/TVL uses Recorded Mail to send letters to certain unlicensed addresses.
By reference to BBC Policy documents, Staff training materials, emails and similar documentation, please can you tell me:-
1. How many items of recorded mail were sent to unlicensed addresses in each of the past 5 years.
2. What is the purpose of the use of recorded mail, and how does it relate to the detection of Licence Fee evasion?
3. What is the estimated additional cost of using recorded mail in these instances?
4. What cost-benefit assessment has been undertaken of this exercise? What was the outcome?
Yours faithfully,
Mark on behalf of LicenceFree.co.uk
