TV Licensing renewal communications

The request was partially successful.

Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,

I recently made a request for information to you (RFI20170173). Unfortunately you could not provide me the information I requested due to confusion on what I was requesting.

As a result I have I have reworded my request as follows, which, hopefully, clarifies my request sufficiently to enable you to provide useful information.

Scenario :

An address holds a full, valid, colour, TV license (current cost £145.50). This license is due for renewal on 1st January each year. TV Licensing will send requests for renewal payment in the period leading up to the renewal date. For each request issued by TV Licensing (up to, and including the renewal date) please provide :

For the years 2016, 2015, 2014 :

1. A copy of each request sent (either by email or letter);

2. The date each request is sent e.g 1 month before renewal date, 1 week before renewal, 1 day before renewal date.

3. Where a change in any request text has been made for either 2015 or 2016 please also provide the date each change was authorised.

4. Please provide the number of people from 'the BBC TV Licensing Management Team' involved in the 'discussions leading up to the final approval of letters'.

I believe this revised request should not require you to provide me with no more than 4 or 5 copies of specific letters/emails for each of the requested years, not the 'hundreds of variations' that you indicate. Also, if you still believe that this request will exceed the £450 cost limit please provide as much information as possible up to the cost limit in the priority order of Q1 first, then Q2, Q3, Q4, and working backwards chronologically from 2016 first.

Yours faithfully,

R Good

Dear FOI Enquiries,

Thank you for your response indicating you require more time to consider potential FOI Act section 31 (Law Enforcement) exemptions.

I await your response with interest. I believe that most of the information I have requested is already in the public domain, by the fact that you send reminder letter/emails to the public, and therefore it is difficult to understand which aspects of my request would hinder your 'enforcement of the law'. Regardless of this I do expect that any aspects of my request not covered by Section 31 exemptions are responded to in full.

Yours sincerely,

R Good

Dear FOI Enquiries,

Your last response to RFI20170481 indicated you required to determine if any exemptions applied to the data you hold pertinent to my request. You expected to be able yo provide a response by 26th May.

As this date has now passed please provide me with the outcome of your exemption tests or, if this is still not available, the reasons for your further delay and a revised completion date.

Note, in my response to your last communication I indicated that, regardless of the outcome of your exemption test, I still expected to receive all requested information requested that is NOT subject to exemption. I have still not received this information either.

Yours sincerely,

R Good
