Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,

I am making this request under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Section 23.4 of Schedule 2 of the BBC's TV Licensing contract with Capita states the following: "The Contractor shall notify the BBC of any instances of Customer or Employee fraud immediately."

In accordance with section 1 of the Act, please provide the following information:
1. The number of times Capita has reported to the BBC any instances of employee fraud. Please provide this as an annual breakdown from 1st January 2010 to the present time.
2. In relation to each instance of employee fraud mentioned in response to point 1 above, a brief description of the nature of the fraud reported (e.g. visiting officer retained customer cash payment etc).

I look forward to a timely and concise response, in accordance with the spirit of the Act.

Yours faithfully,

Peter Jones

Peter Jones left an annotation ()

"As can be seen from the very low numbers of fraudulent instances reported here (2 over the course of a
five-year plus period), Capita’s fraud controls are very effective in picking up any fraudulent behaviour. "

On the contrary, I think those low figures demonstrate that Capita is very poor at picking up instances of fraud.
