Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment...

The above article states that by switching from the Post Office to paypoint the BBC state they saved £100 million in costs over 6 years. Can you please state the cost paid at the end of the contract to Post Office Ltd per licence issued.

Yours faithfully,

Andrea West

Dear FOI Enquiries,

Please note that “TV Licensing” is a trade mark used by companies contracted by the BBC to administer
the collection of television licence fees and enforcement of the television licensing system. The majority of
the administration of TV Licensing is contracted to Capita Business Services Ltd (‘Capita’). Over-the-counter
services are provided by PayPoint plc (‘PayPoint’) in the UK, and by the Post Office in the Isle of Man and
Channel Islands. Marketing and printing services are contracted to Proximity London Ltd. Media services
are contracted to Mediaedge:CIA International Limited ("MEC"). The BBC is a public authority in respect of
its television licensing functions and retains overall responsibility.

So please clarify who much money was paid to Capita at the time and how many licences were issued over the counter.

Yours sincerely,

Andrea West

Hi Andrea.

You might want to ask for an internal review.

The BBC must have the information requested in the form of invoices presented to them or payment made from their accounts. To claim it doesn't exist seems a odd approach.

If they are not tracking values on the scale of he reported saving then that would be an issue.
