A. Clerk (Account suspended)

Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,

In a recent foi response you stated the following...

A: "The TV licence is not a payment or contract for services, rather it is a legal permission to use or
install a television receiver."

B : "The use of a TV receiver without a valid licence is a criminal offence. "

Please provide me with documentation to substantiate the claims A and B above.
(or was it your intention to mislead the public?)

Yours faithfully,

A. Clerk

Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of British Broadcasting Corporation's handling of my FOI request 'TV licence'.

“In a recent foi response you stated the following...
A: "The TV licence is not a payment or contract for services, rather it is a legal permission to use or
install a television receiver."
B : "The use of a TV receiver without a valid licence is a criminal offence. "
Please provide me with documentation to substantiate the claims A and B above.
(or was it your intention to mislead the public?)”

Legal permission is not required to use or install a tv receiver for catchup tv (bbc excluded)
It us not illegal to use a tv receiver without a licence for cstchup tv (bbc exclded)

Why are you misleading the public?

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/t...

Yours faithfully,

A. Clerk
