We are pleased to confirm that we hold the information you have requested and are therefore able to
provide answers to your questions.
I would like you to provide the fol owing information:
1) For each year since 2018, how many students have been investigative for tuition fee fraud?
Since 2018 (but not including data for the 2023/24 academic year because it hasn’t been
published), the University confirms that it has investigated 27 cases of tuition fee fraud.
2) What were the outcomes in each case?
Less than five cases were not upheld.
Less than 10 cases were dropped with no further action (the students un-enrol ed and were no
longer subject to the Student Disciplinary Procedure).
From the cases that were upheld, less than 5 were permanently excluded, less than 5 received final
written warnings, and less than 20 received first written warnings.
3) Of the total number of students investigated since 2018, how many were of Chinese
nationality?
The University does not record the ethnicity of students investigated for tuition fee fraud.
