Could you please provide me with the following information regarding trees within the tree preservation area in Scholes HD9.

1) Over the last 24 months how many trees have been removed from tree preservation areas in Scholes.

2) What was the reason for the removal of these trees? For example, diseased, removed due to causing damage to building structure or removed to facilitate building works.

3) At what location were the trees removed?

4) Has the council taken any action against people removing trees without permission in the area in the last 24 months?

EIR 13332 - Removal of trees in Scholes HD9

 

I am writing in response to your request dated 18 July 2016.  This has
been dealt with under the Environmental Information Regulations 2004.

 

You asked for information regarding trees within the tree preservation
area in Scholes HD9.

 

The Council's response to your specific questions is set out below:

 

1)      Over the last 24 months how many trees have been removed from tree
preservation areas in Scholes.

2)      What was the reason for the removal of these trees? For example,
diseased, removed due to causing damage to building structure or removed
to facilitate building works.

3)      At what location were the trees removed?

 

The information is already in the public realm.   All applications
including reasons for the proposed felling and this Authority’s decision
are available to view on the Council’s website through the search facility

4)      Has the council taken any action against people removing trees
without permission in the area in the last 24 months?

 

There are no records of any enforcement action being required in the
Scholes HD9 area or any cases being reported which required an enforcement
investigation.
