Dear Network Rail Limited,
I am a Tree Officer working for a London Borough and I have heard about plans to remove up to 13 million trees on your Network. I am concerned about the apparent lack of consultation both with the public and with local authorities. The only information I have had about this plan has been snippets from newspaper articles (like this one: https://www.theguardian.com/business/201...) and conversations with my colleagues, I could not find any information about this on your websites. I would like to know definitively what your plans and justifications are regarding this alleged plan to fell up to 13 million trees. This would include any documents you are able to share relating to this plan (i.e. maps, schedules, timescales, surveys, ecological impact assessments, figures, reports etc.). As a public body, I would expect this information to be publicly available, much in the same way that planning applications are posted online on local authorities' websites. So although the scope of my request is quite broad, I don't feel that it is unreasonable.
