Dear freedomofinformation,

Many thanks for your response, which was most helpful.

You estimate there are 1,230,000 trees in the currently within the council's ownership, which is good to know. However, do you have any historic figures at all that can be used as a benchmark for whether tree planting has increased or decreased in Wakefield.

Yours sincerely,

Gavin Haines

Dear Mr Haines,

I have referred your query to the Council's Arboricultural Officer.

He advises me that the information we sent to you is all the data which is available on the subject. He can only suggest that it may help you to deduct the total removed from the total planted, which may give you the figures you require.

I am very sorry that we have been unable to be of further assistance on this occasion.

Yours sincerely,
