Tree-felling

The request was successful.

Dear Sir or Madam,

Under freedom of information legislation, I am seeking the following information:

The number of trees chopped down in your area between June 30, 2019 and January 2014.

I require this information broken down by years and how many had preservation orders on them or were classed as exceptional due to age, size of historical significance.

Also during the same period how many trees have been planted - again broken down by years.

I would be grateful if you could provide answers via email. Please contact me with any queries.

I look forward to receiving your response within 20 working days.

Many thanks,

Nada Farhoud

Ƹ Kirsty Read eastlaw.org.uk,

Dear Sir/Madam

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 and/or ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION
REGULATIONS 2004 – INFORMATION REQUEST
013455 TO BOROUGH COUNCIL OF KINGS LYNN AND WEST NORFOLK

Thank you for your request for information.

Due to resources, we are not able to quantify the tree removals throughout
the borough with regard to TPO trees, some are lost dues to storms/decay
without notification to the borough. Under the TPO regulations, trees
removed should be replaced, again this is difficult to assess due to
resources.

The information that we hold with regard to trees on our own land, is as
follows, during the period you requested:

Felled – 41. The borough has a policy of not felling trees unless it is
the only way to mitigate any health & safety issues. This does not take
into account of windblown trees and, where possible, we leave standing
dead timber for biodiversity purposes.

Planted – 249 throughout the borough and within our parks.

The information supplied to you continues to be protected by the
Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, you are free to use it for your
own purposes, including any non-commercial research you are doing and for
the purposes of news reporting.  Any other re-use would require the
permission of the copyright holder.

For information where the copyright is owned by the Council, details of
the conditions on re-use can be found on our website.

If you are unhappy with the service you have received in relation to your
request and wish to make a complaint or request a review of our decision,
you should write to me at the above address within two months of the date
of this letter.

If you are not content with the outcome of your complaint, you can also
complain to the Information Commissioner at [1]www.ico.org.uk or Tel: 0303
