Treatment options for various mental health concerns

Dear West London Mental Health NHS Trust,

I am writing to request the following information for the calendar
year between 1st January 2013 and 1st January 2014:

The total number of outpatients diagnosed with the following
conditions:

· Mild to moderate depression
· General anxiety disorder
· Stress

Furthermore, I would like receive information for:

The total number of the above for each condition who were
prescribed, issued or recommended the following as a result of
their condition:

· Referral to a specific individual or group therapy programme such
as cognitive behavioural therapy

· Prescription drugs (see below)

· Referral to a specific individual or group exercise programme
such as 12-week GP referral schemes

· Information and advice about getting active for mental wellbeing

Where the option to refer to one of the above was not available
(for example, if a specific exercise programme does not exist for
each condition’s pathway in the local area, please include this
acknowledgement).

Where more than one option was offered, please include ‘1’ entry
for each pathway offered (for example, where a patient
demonstrating anxiety disorder was offered both prescription drugs
and active lifestyle advice please include ‘1’ entry for each).

Where prescription drugs were offered, please specify which drug
was offered for each patient from the list below:

· Benzodiazepines
· Pregabalin
· Serotonin and noradrenaline reuptake inhibitors
· Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors
· Valium
· Other antidepressants
· Other medication

I would appreciate if the information was set out in the following
format. For example:

· Number of outpatient appointments with the following conditions:

o Mild to moderate depression – 75 outpatients
o General anxiety disorder – 68 outpatients

· Number of outpatients for each condition referred to a specific
individual or group therapy programme such as cognitive behavioural

§ Other medication - 5 outpatients

o General anxiety disorder

§ Benzodiazepines – 0 outpatients
§ Pregabalin – 2 outpatients
§ Serotonin and noradrenaline reuptake inhibitors – 1 outpatients
§ Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors - 0 outpatients
§ Valium – 9 outpatients
§ Other antidepressants - 7 outpatients
§ Other medication - 3 outpatients

o Stress

§ Benzodiazepines – 6 outpatients
§ Pregabalin – 7 outpatients
§ Serotonin and noradrenaline reuptake inhibitors – 10 outpatients
§ Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors - 15 outpatients
§ Valium – 7 outpatients
§ Other antidepressants - 8 outpatients
§ Other medication - 5 outpatients

· Number of outpatients referred to a specific individual or group
exercise programme such as 12-week GP referral schemes

o Mild to moderate depression – 12 outpatients
o General anxiety disorder – 5 outpatients
o Stress – 7 outpatients

· Number of outpatients offered information and advice about
getting active for mental wellbeing

o Mild to moderate depression – 34 outpatients
o General anxiety disorder – 28 outpatients
o Stress – 37 outpatients
