Treasury accused of breaching human rights

The request was refused by HM Treasury.

Dear Sir or Madam,

Summary: Treasury accused of breaching human rights

Request:
The Parliamentary Joint Committee on Human Rights have accused the Treasury of breaching Article 1 Protocol 1 of the European Convention on Human Rights through the use of unjustified retrospective legislation in section 58 of the 2008 Finance Act.

This is a very grave accusation and, in the interests of transparency and openness, the Treasury should forthwith put all the information it has on section 58 into the public domain.

This is what I am asking for.

Yours faithfully,

John Hope
