Dear Naomi McMaster,
forgive me please but i can not understand why the council officer keeps telling my agent that the funding has finished in 2014.
as i tell my agent that there is a new fundng for 2015/18.
i would like to know how much grant could be had for 33 pitches in lincolnshire to save any more confusion

Yours sincerely,

ron haydon

Karen James,

Dear Mr Haydon,

Your enquiry concerning Traveller Pitch funding has been passed to me.

To deal first with the issue of the Council Officer, this may be down to a
misunderstanding. Until fairly recently, there was a separate “pot” of
money to fund traveller pitches and this has indeed ended.  However, the
Affordable Housing Programme (AHP) 2015 – 2018 includes Traveller Pitch
funding (TPF).  Registered partners are able to make a bid for funding
from this programme via Continuous Market Engagement (CME).  There is no
separate amount set aside for TPF.

There is no set amount per pitch.  It is down to the registered partner to
put forward their bid for funding, making a case for the site and advising
what other funding can be brought forward to the scheme.    Funding is
available for new pitches only.  The priority is permanent pitches, but it
is recognised that temporary and transit are also required.  Bidders are
required to take into account the Mobile Homes Act.    There is guidance
on good design on the DCLG website.   Bids will be assessed on their
viability on an individual basis and should include information on the
future management of the scheme. You will appreciate that as public
funding is involved, it is necessary to ensure the scheme is well managed
and that appropriate action can be taken to ensure that it remains a
sustainable place people wish to live in

Bids for funding are made via CME on a monthly basis, until all the
funding in the programme is allocated.  Bids are made by registered
partners, usually a housing association or a local authority via the
online system IMS.    Guidance on who may bid and how is included in the
Affordable Homes Programme prospectus, which I attach here.
