Dear foiofficer,

Below us a link to the website of the Legal Ombudsman,,which provides details of the expenses of its committee members.

They are regularly provided for the public by the Legal Ombudsman.

Does the PHSO publish similar expenses for its committee members?

If it does, why haven't you provided a list of these expenses?

If the PHSO keeps the expenses of it's board members secret, when was this decision made and who made it?

Example of information provided by the Legal Ombudsman.

Dear Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman's handling of my FOI request 'Travel, subsistence and hospitality'.

I cannot believe the PHSO is so inefficient that it does not keep a closer watch on how this money is spent..surely these expenses claims are checked by the accountants, who need the information to be easily retrievable, rather than just 'allocating a code'.

Or are PHSO staff allowed to write out expenses claims - practically unmonitored?

With no ethics officer, and seemingly no close scrutiny by the financial officer, I would have thought that basing this sort of expenditure 'on trust' would lead to some unnecessary expenditure by staff.

Therefore please confirm no more information - other than these easy to defraud categories exists, or that more specific information, which would demonstrate closer monitoring is available.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/t...

Yours faithfully,

Jt Oakley
