Thank you for your request for information received on the 16th June 2022.
We have considered your request and enclose the following information –
Travel Expenses
1. What is the authority’s policy in relation to travel expenses,
including a breakdown of how the mileage rate is calculated?
Answer:
Mileage rate of 45p per mile for employees, irrespective of car engine
size or fuel type. In the case of motorcycles 24p per mile is the rate
paid per all mileage.
In order to help the Council meet its sustainable development agenda, a
payment of 5p per passenger per business mile, up to the maximum of the
seating capacity of the vehicle, is paid for employees using their cars on
Council business. The passengers must be other employees on Council
business.
2. Does the authority operate a different policy in relation to travel
expenses for domiciliary care workers?
Answer:
The Authority does not operate a different policy in relation to travel
expenses for domiciliary workers.
