Interpretation and language services costs.

As part of the Council’s duty under Section 16 of Freedom of Information
Act 2000 to provide advice and assistance, your questions have been
separated out with the corresponding response, as set out below.

The information supplied has been provided by the department responsible
for the service delivery.

Your request:

Please provide me with the following information for the financial years
2020/2021, 2021/22, 2022/23:

The amount spent by the council on translation, interpretation and
language services in all areas of council competence, including:

the provision of any social housing for which it has responsibility;

recycling and waste collection;

transport; and other areas in which such expenditure has been made.

The Council’s response:

Provision of Social Housing:

2022/23 £8,010.80

Recycling and Waste Collection:

Ipswich Borough Council spent £800 on design work and translations for
multiple languages in 2023. Prior to 2023 Information not held.

Transport:

Ipswich Borough Council has not had any expenditure for language services,
translations or interpretations for transport.

The Council’s spending across all services on translation, interpretation,
and language services has been:

• Libraries
• Trading Standards
