Dempster, Sam, Department of Education (Northern Ireland)

Mrs Weir

FOI request reference: DE/2020-0067.

Thank you for your enquiry which has been passed to me to provide a response.

Members of staff working in the Department may sit on the Board of Governors of some schools as parent governors, for example; however, individuals appointed to Boards by the Department are independent of it. The arrangements between the two transfer test providers and the schools around charges or otherwise for the use of school premises are private between the providers and individual schools. The Department plays no role in the conduct of the examinations. If you wish to receive an answer to this query it would be advisable to contact the test providers directly.

If you are unhappy with the level of service you have received in relation to your request, you may ask for an internal review within two calendar months of the date of this e-mail. Please write to the Departmental Information Manager, Rathgael House, Balloo Rd, Bangor, BT19 7PR, or send an e-mail to [email address], if you wish to make a complaint.

If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you have the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a review of our original decision. The Information Commissioner can be contacted at:

Information Commissioner’s Office
Wycliffe House
Water Lane
Wilmslow
Cheshire

Should you have any queries about this e-mail, please contact me quoting the reference number above in any future communications.

Kind Regards
