Dear Royal Mail Group Limited,

On the 27th of January 2020 around 17:00pm, I, Iraklis Pazios made a complaint through the Royal Mail customer service. The call was recorded and it is crucial as it may be used as evidence in a court case. I would like a transcript of the call i made. My phone number is 07856458356. Please send the transcript of this conversation to my email. Let it be known I have been informed that Royal Mail is still obligated to send the transcription by a representative in that very same call.

Yours faithfully, Iraklis Pazios.

Dear Royal Mail Group Limited,

WhatDoTheyKnow has sent me a message saying you haven't replied to my FOI request. I'm reminding you to do so.

Dear Mr Pazios,

I write with regard to your below email in which you query our response to your Freedom Of Information request made on the 27th January 2020.

It might be helpful if I explain that as your request was for a copy of your call recording with Royal Mail's Customer Service team on the 27th January 2020 it is being handled under the subject access provisions of the Data Protection Act and not the Freedom of Information Act, as it concerns the request for personal information.

We have acknowledged your request on the 5th February 2020 and aim to issue our response to your request no later than the 4th March. I have attached a copy of our response to your request for your information.

It might also be useful if I explain that following the flotation of Royal Mail on the London Stock Exchange in October 2013, it is no longer subject to the Freedom of Information Act. Royal Mail was previously subject to the Act because it was wholly owned by the government. However, now that the government has sold its shares in Royal Mail, this is no longer the case. Therefore, we are no longer obliged to respond to requests for information under the terms of the FOI Act.

Dear Mr Pazios

Thank you for your email. I can confirm that the Information Rights and Governance Team responded to your request on 26 February 2020. We sent an email to the email address held within our Customer Experience records which confirmed that our response would be communicated via Royal Mail's Secure File sharing system, Move IT. We confirmed that you would receive a temporary username and password from Move IT directly to enable you to log in to the system to retrieve your package, which included copies of the call recordings requested. On 23 March we received notification from the Move IT system that your package had not been retrieved, and has therefore been deleted from the system.

Unfortunately, for security reasons we are unable to send a copy of the recordings via email. We can of course arrange to resend the information via Move IT to the email address we hold for you. Alternatively, we can send the information on a disc via Special Delivery to the postal address associated with your recent contact with our Customer Experience Department; however, due to the current national situation there may be a slight delay to information being sent via post.

If you wish to email us directly about this matter, you can do so using the following email address: [email address]
