Dear Welsh Parliament,
On 20 November 2022 at approximately 09:01, the official Twitter account of Senedd
Cymru (@SeneddWales) posted the fol owing:
"Today, we remember the trans individuals who have lived, loved, fought and fallen.
We remember their spirit and their message that everyone deserves the right to be
exactly who they are. #TransDayOfRemembrance"
Please could you provide the number of trans people who were kil ed in the 12
months prior to 20 November 2022 in Wales in acts of anti-trans violence, as wel as
the source of this data, which prompted the Senedd to publish this tweet.

The publication of the Tweet to mark this day was prompted by our commitment to value
diversity and prioritise inclusion, which is built into every aspect of our work.
Trans Day of Remembrance is an international event in recognition of people around the
world who were kil ed due to anti-transgender violence. It also aims to highlight the
harassment and discrimination experienced by trans people.
Our
Diversity and Inclusion strategy states that:
The Senedd does not tolerate transphobia, defined as discrimination, harassment or
bul ying against transgender people, based on the expression of their gender identity. Our
Dignity and Respect policy specifically states that we do not tolerate harassment or bul ying
based on gender identity.
